The Bach, Manly

An extension and renovation of an existing 1950’s beachfront bach – the aim was to maintain the original scale and feel - the ‘essence’ of the old bach -  and create a series of special ‘moments’ within the space which was challenging given the modest floor area. The design needed to be lively and interesting, going beyond restoration. The interior design is an assemblage of colours and textures both nostalgic and modern, set against a neutral background palette with lines that have been kept intentionally clean and simple. The spaces, details and aspects provide a canvas against which the client has been able to express their individuality and love for life and family. National winner of the 2015 ADNZ Interior Design award.
