The best measure of the quality of design is the way it feels – how the space connects its inhabitants to nature, to the earth, and to each other.
The conversation between a sculptural, built structure, and its natural setting continually fascinates us. A thoughtfully designed home should always give a respectful, grateful nod to the landscape that surrounds it.
Simplicity without sterility is always our goal. Life can be busy and chaotic; we design spaces that restore calm.
We are committed to a careful and wise use of resources, ensuring every design element is working hard to add value. Natural, earth-friendly materials are used whenever possible, and our aim is always to protect the site’s ecosystem.
Ultimately, it’s about designing right for people, the place, and the planet.

COASTAL RENOVATION
After nearly 50 years in harsh seaside conditions, this home required a major overhaul.

Located on a secluded bush-clad site, this house plays on the uniquely New Zealand typology of the back country hut.
